Description

Tarik’s story began on the streets, where he was picked up by the local government shelter as part of a neuter-and-release program. Like many strays, he underwent neutering, was given a rabies vaccine, microchipped, and received an ear tag as part of the identification system used for stray dogs. Though this tag may be a reminder of a difficult chapter in his life, it also marks the beginning, he survived abandonment, hardship, and uncertainty with grace and quiet strength.

Thankfully, Tarik’s story didn’t end on the streets. They released him back, which is standard in the government’s program, however shortly after a kind person stepped in and placed him in a safe and caring boarding kennel. Here, he has continued to blossom into the warm, well-mannered dog he is today. His ear tag will be removed once he finds a loving, permanent home, something we’re all hoping for very soon.

Tarik is truly a sweetheart. He’s gentle, affectionate, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. Whether it’s males or females, he greets them with kindness and respect. He can be cat-tested on request, but his calm and social temperament suggests he could adapt to a home with feline friends with proper introductions.

He absolutely loves people. Cuddles, kind words, and just being near his humans make Tarik light up. He’s very obedient and naturally well-mannered, never pushy or overwhelming. He can sometimes jump or demand attention, always hopeful for a kind touch or a soft place to rest his head.

Tarik has been fully vaccinated, dewormed, neutered, microchipped, and vet-checked. Health-wise, he’s in great shape and ready to start his new life.

Though he’s part terrier, he doesn’t have the high-energy nature many associate with smaller terrier breeds. Instead, Tarik has the balance and calmness of a larger dog, likely thanks to his mixed heritage. He enjoys walks and outdoor time but is equally content lounging in the sun or relaxing beside you. He would thrive in a calm household that can give him the mental and physical stimulation he needs, without chaos or overwhelm.

He would be an ideal companion for someone looking for a companion or a person who appreciates quiet companionship. Tarik doesn’t ask for much. All he needs is safety, love, and the feeling of truly belonging to someone.

After months in kennels and a lifetime of uncertainty, Tarik is finally ready to go home.
