Description
Born in the backyard of an abandoned house, Skipper’s start in life was tough, but his devoted mother protected him and his siblings, ensuring their survival. Eventually, a kind woman from a nearby home discovered them and reached out for help. We took them in, and all of the puppies found homes in the UK, including Skipper. He settled well with his new family, but his story took an unexpected turn when his brother Ziggy, who had not been as lucky, needed a new home. Skipper’s family lovingly stepped in and adopted Ziggy as well, reuniting the two brothers in what seemed like a happily-ever-after.
For a time, everything was perfect. Skipper and Ziggy lived together in harmony, sharing their lives with a family that loved them. However, tragedy struck when their owners lost their home and had to move immediately. With nowhere to go, both dogs were placed in a foster home. Unfortunately, during their time there, they gained a significant amount of weight due to a lack of proper exercise, and they now need a home that will help them return to a healthier lifestyle.
Skipper is a loving and well-mannered dog with a calm nature, but he values his personal space, especially when sleeping. He doesn’t appreciate being disturbed while resting and would do best in a home that respects his need for uninterrupted downtime. He enjoys companionship but isn’t overly clingy—he’s the type of dog who loves to be near his humans but doesn’t need constant attention.
He gets along well with other dogs and is also fine with cats, making him a great addition to a multi-pet household. Like his brother Ziggy, he has had to endure a lot of changes in his life, and as a result, he needs a stable and understanding home that will provide him with routine, patience, and love.
Skipper would thrive in a home that offers him gentle exercise to help him regain a healthy weight, but also a space where he can relax undisturbed when he chooses to. He has been through so much and is now ready for his forever home—a place where he will never have to worry about being uprooted again.
