Marush’s life began in circumstances that no puppy should ever experience.
She was found in a garbage landfill when she was barely old enough to survive on her own. Around her lay her five siblings, all of whom had succumbed to starvation. Marush was the only one still alive, clinging on despite being weak, hungry, and alone.
Against all odds, she survived.
She was rescued while she was still only around a month old and brought into foster care, where for the first time in her life she experienced warmth, regular meals, safety, and kindness. Since then, she has been growing up surrounded by love and care, but what she has never had is a family that truly belongs to her.
Perhaps because of everything she experienced so early in life, Marush has developed into an exceptionally gentle and affectionate puppy.
She adores people and actively seeks out closeness and affection. She enjoys cuddles, follows her humans around happily, and genuinely seems to appreciate simply being near the people she loves. There is a softness to her personality that stands out, particularly considering how young she still is.
She is also wonderful with children and has shown herself to be patient, calm, and tolerant around them. Her gentle temperament makes her a lovely candidate for family life.
Marush gets along beautifully with other dogs and enjoys their company, whether that means playing together or simply relaxing nearby. She is equally comfortable around cats and has shown that she can happily share her space with feline companions as well.
Although she still has all the curiosity and playful moments expected from a young puppy, she is not excessively demanding or chaotic. She has a calmness about her that many dogs do not develop until much later in life.
As with all puppies, her future family will need to continue teaching her about the world. Toilet training, household routines, lead walking, and ongoing socialisation will all form part of her education as she grows. Fortunately, puppies at this age adapt quickly and form strong bonds with their families, and Marush already appears eager to engage with people and learn from them.
Her adopters should also be prepared for all the normal stages of puppy development, including chewing, curiosity, occasional mischief, and moments of selective hearing that seem to appear in every young dog at some point.
What stands out most about Marush is not simply that she survived, but the dog she became afterwards.
She could have become fearful, withdrawn, or distrustful after such a beginning. Instead, she chose to trust people completely and meet the world with kindness and affection.
Marush has already fought harder for her life than most dogs ever will.
Now she deserves the easy part.
A home of her own. A family who will love her for the rest of her life. A place where she will never again know hunger, loneliness, or abandonment, and where the only thing she has to worry about is deciding which sofa is her favourite.
