This stunning Doberman was found in a heartbreaking state, mere skin and bones, clinging to life after being abandoned in the cold. She had been bought as a breeding dog, but when the person who purchased her tragically passed away, Karma was left to fend for herself. Neglected, covered in bruises, and starving, she survived on whatever scraps she could find, enduring conditions no living being should ever have to face. When she was finally rescued, she was on the brink of death, weak and malnourished, but still holding onto the will to live.
Under our care, Karma has transformed. She has gained weight, her coat has regained its healthy shine, and her spirit has flourished. Despite everything she has endured, her love for humans remains unwavering. She is an incredibly affectionate and human-oriented dog, always eager for attention, companionship, and affection. Dobermans are known for their deep loyalty and strong bonds with their people, and Karma is no exception, she wants nothing more than to be by her human’s side, offering her devotion in exchange for love and security.
As a purebred Doberman, Karma exhibits many of the breed’s hallmark characteristics. Dobermans are intelligent, alert, and energetic, making them excellent working dogs and loyal companions. They thrive in environments where they have structure, leadership, and purpose. They are known for their protective nature and their deep connection with their family, often forming unbreakable bonds with their owners. However, Dobermans require experienced handlers who understand the breed’s needs, temperament, and training requirements.
Karma, like many dogs with a difficult past, has some behavioral traits that will require patience and guidance. She is food possessive towards other animals, likely due to prolonged starvation and neglect, and she will need consistent training to help her feel secure during mealtimes. She also pulls on the lead, a sign of both her high energy levels and lack of prior training. Because of her prey drive and lack of experience with small animals, Karma is not suited to a home with cats or small dogs.
