Finn

Finn is a young gentle giant whose body carries the scars of cruelty, yet whose heart still chooses to trust. Description

Finn is a young dog with an old soul. Not yet fully grown, he already stands out due to his impressive size. Currently weighing around 36kg after the loss of his injured limb, he is expected to become an exceptionally large and powerful dog as he matures.

His story, however, is not defined by his size, but by his resilience. When Finn was found, the signs of cruelty were impossible to ignore. His mutilated ears and physical condition suggested a past as a bait dog, used, hurt, and discarded. At his lowest point, when his future hung by a thread, it was the compassion of the woman behind the Amos charity that changed everything—she saw him, chose him, and made sure his story did not end there. And yet, despite everything he endured at the hands of humans, Finn chose trust. He allowed gentle hands to lift him, to examine his injuries, to place him in a crate, and to care for him without fear or resistance. His patience is quiet, steady, and deeply moving.

Following a complex and demanding surgery, Finn is now recovering well. He is alert, eating, and showing the first signs of a future that may finally hold kindness instead of pain.

Finn is incredibly human-oriented and forms strong bonds with those around him. Due to his past, he can show dominance towards other dogs and will need an environment that understands and respects his boundaries. With his livestock guardian instincts, he is naturally watchful and protective. He takes comfort in space, routine, and knowing his place in the world.

Because of his cropped ears, Finn cannot legally be adopted within the UK. This means his journey to a permanent home may be longer and more uncertain, as we search for the right family within the EU, someone who will see beyond what was done to him and recognize the gentle, loyal companion he truly is. Finn’s story is one of survivall, but also of quiet hope.

He is a dog who has every reason to fear, yet chooses trust. A dog who has lost so much, yet still gives so much back.
