Description
May is not the sort of cat who immediately throws herself into the centre of attention. She is softer, quieter, and more emotionally reserved than that. Around new people and unfamiliar environments, she can initially be timid and cautious while she works out whether she feels safe. She is the type of cat who prefers to observe first rather than rush blindly into situations.
Once she trusts someone, however, a very sweet side of her begins to appear.
She enjoys human company, affection, and gentle interaction, but she is not emotionally needy or demanding. May has an independent personality and seems perfectly content spending quiet time by herself when she feels like it. She is affectionate in a calm, balanced way rather than constantly seeking attention. For many people, cats like May make especially rewarding companions because their trust feels genuine and deeply meaningful once earned.
Her story began very painfully. As a tiny kitten, she was rescued with a severe infection affecting both eyes. The damage was significant and aggressive treatment was needed to save her. Thankfully, one eye recovered successfully, but the other could not be saved. Despite this difficult start, May adapted beautifully and functions perfectly well with one eye. Cats are incredibly adaptable animals and May clearly does not consider herself limited in any way.
There is something very dignified about her character. She feels emotionally mature, observant, and quietly intelligent. Rather than constantly demanding entertainment or stimulation, May seems to appreciate calmness, routine, and environments where she can settle comfortably at her own pace.
Socially, she does wonderfully with other cats and integrates very naturally into feline groups. She can happily live alongside other cats in a multi pet household, but she is also emotionally independent enough to be perfectly content as an only cat. She does not appear to rely heavily on other animals for confidence, which makes her adaptable to different home situations.
Future adopters should understand that May is unlikely to be the sort of cat who instantly arrives acting completely confident and overly affectionate. She will probably need a little time to decompress, observe her surroundings, and build trust gradually. People who understand and respect feline body language and emotional boundaries will likely see her blossom beautifully once she feels secure.
She is also at a lovely age where her personality is fully developed. She is no longer chaotic or unpredictable like a kitten, but still young, healthy, and adaptable with many years ahead of her.
