Description

Mari is a dog with a deeply loving and gentle nature. Inside the home, she is calm, affectionate, and easy to live with. She settles nicely into household routines and enjoys simply being near her people, whether that’s relaxing quietly in the same room or enjoying peaceful moments together. She has a softness about her that makes her a comforting presence in the home and she forms strong emotional bonds with the people she trusts.

Outside, a different side of Mari shines through. She becomes playful, energetic, and full of enthusiasm for life. She enjoys walks, exploring new places, and taking in the world around her. She would thrive with someone who enjoys including their dog in adventures, whether that means countryside walks, park trips, or simply accompanying them through daily life. She also travels very well in the car and genuinely enjoys journeys, happily sitting in the back and watching the world pass by.

Mari is wonderful with children and has experience living in a busy family environment. She has shown herself to be patient and kind around kids, making her a lovely family companion. She also gets along well with other dogs and enjoys canine company.

Like many sensitive dogs, Mari does have some anxieties that will require understanding and patience from her future home. She can initially be nervous around unfamiliar adults and may feel overwhelmed by sudden or unusual situations such as traffic, bicycles, loud noises, or veterinary visits. She is a naturally observant and emotionally aware dog, which means she reacts strongly to environments that feel unpredictable or overstimulating.

However, what is important to understand about Mari is that she does warm up. Once she realizes she is safe and learns to trust someone, her affectionate and loyal personality comes through beautifully. She forms very close attachments to the people she knows and absolutely adores those within her trusted circle. Her relationship with familiar people is loving.

Mari would do best in a calm, understanding home with people who are willing to continue helping her build confidence at her own pace. She does not need perfection, she simply needs patience and consistency. She is already house-trained, accustomed to living in a home, and capable of being left alone for short periods, though ideally she would not be left for long hours on a regular basis. Her current routine involves being left for no more than around three and a half hours at a time.

One important consideration is that Mari cannot live with cats.

Mari is a truly lovely dog who deserves stability and compassion from the people around her. Beneath her anxieties is a deeply affectionate, loyal, and gentle companion who simply wants to feel safe and connected. In the right home, with patient guidance and love, she will flourish into an incredibly devoted best friend.
