Description
Since arriving at their foster home in Scotland, both have shown their distinct personalities. Elphaba is the more reserved of the two a sweet but cautious soul who prefers to take life at her own pace. She’s not the type of cat who will immediately rush to greet you at the door or demand constant attention. Instead, she’s the quiet observer, watching the world with her beautiful, thoughtful eyes and deciding when and with whom she feels comfortable. She enjoys being near people, often settling contentedly in the same room, but she’s just as happy to wander off to a quiet corner or another room when she’s had enough excitement for the day. Once Elphaba trusts you, her affection feels like a rare gift. She enjoys gentle petting sessions but likes them to be on her terms, she’s not a fan of sudden cuddles or being picked up unexpectedly. Her love language is subtle, the soft brush of her fur as she walks past, the quiet company she offers while you work or read, the delicate purr that hums through her chest when she finally relaxes in your presence. Like many Persians, Elphaba has a playful streak hidden beneath her calm demeanour. She loves her toys from wand teasers to jingling balls and even battery-operated gadgets that keep her entertained. She’s clever, easily bored by repetition, so a rotation of toys keeps her sharp and engaged. Having grown up alongside her boisterous brother, Elphaba has developed a wonderful tolerance for other cats and their antics. She’s used to sharing her space with strong personalities and does so gracefully. If adopted separately, she would likely thrive in a home with another gentle cat, enjoying quiet companionship without needing constant interaction. As a Persian, Elphaba’s care comes with its own special routine and she’s surprisingly cooperative about it. She’ll need daily grooming to keep her luscious coat silky and free of tangles, and her eyes should be gently cleaned to prevent tear staining, which is common in the breed. Fortunately, she’s patient and well-mannered during these sessions, especially if treats are involved. Her calm temperament makes her a joy to care for once she learns to trust the hands that hold the brush. When it comes to food, Elphaba has refined tastes. She and her brother are both discerning diners, favouring pâté-style wet foods like Purina Gourmet Gold. For dry food, they enjoy Royal Canin Persian kibble a perfect match for their breed’s needs. She may be selective, but once she finds what she likes, she eats contentedly and happily. Her sleeping preferences are another charming quirk. Unlike many cats, Elphaba has no interest in soft, plush beds or even the comfort of a human mattress. Instead, she prefers hard, cool surfaces like windowsills or the tops of scratching boards, where she curls up serenely and dozes, her fluffy coat spilling elegantly around her like a halo. Elphaba isn’t a cat who will demand constant attention or fill your home with noise and chaos. She’s a cat for someone who appreciates quiet companionship, a gentle presence, and the beauty of a personality that unfolds slowly, like a flower opening to the sun.
